The Black Satellites of Ghana are preparing for a crucial match against Egypt in the quarterfinals of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Monday, 12 May.
This important game will decide who moves on to the semifinals and earns a spot at the 2025 U-20 FIFA World Cup. Both teams are eager to win, and the match is expected to be full of energy and tension.
Ghana reached the knockout stage after a narrow 1-0 victory over the Central African Republic in their final Group C game. Joseph Opoku scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute at the Suez Canal Stadium.
Ghana had most of the ball but struggled to break down their opponents' solid defence.
The Black Satellites topped Group C with seven points, having earlier drawn with DR Congo and beaten defending champions Senegal.

Egypt made it to the last eight as one of the best third-placed teams. They finished their Group A matches with a 1-0 win over Tanzania, thanks to a seventh-minute goal from Ahmed Sharaf.
Despite their lead, Egypt had to work hard to keep Tanzania from scoring, as the East African side controlled much of the game.
Qualification spot for U-20 World Cup
The quarterfinal clash will take place at the New Suez Stadium at 15:00 GMT. It will be a battle between two past champions. Ghana, who have won the U-20 AFCON four times, will aim to keep their strong form going, while Egypt, boosted by home fans, hope to win a fifth title.
